But before we begin, if you're asking what a Bobo is, be sure to
check out our article.
I went to meet a group of bobos at Zoco. It’s a cool little place with wood paneling, old comfy chairs draped in various prints and materials, and some chandeliers that Liberace would have killed for.
They have a happy hour from 7-9pm most nights, and it includes a list of cocktails at 5 euros each. I partook in the Tai Punch (and it punches you!), the Mojito, and the Piña Colada. All of them were very well made and tasty. Nor were they small and watered down like some happy hour drinks are. No, after 3 I was feeling it.
Don’t be surprised if while sitting in the Zoco you start to notice that most of the people know each other. The people I met knew about 80% of the other people there. It’s like a little bobo community that all kiss each other greetings when they come in.
If you’re in the back half of this establishment you can only get pizza and peanuts with your drinks. But, if you’re quite peckish, or even ravenous, then you can sit in the front half of it and get a full meal of various items.
If you’re just looking for a cool place (not yuppie or too trendy!) with a warm ambiance to meet friends, chatter and get a happy hour cocktail, then this is the place for you.
What to do after? How about a walk on the Canal St. Martin, or head over to Oberkampf and do a bar crawl.
